Barróg Beaga

As part of Naomh Barróg’s support for the Irish Language we are asking the coaches to use a few words in Irish with the kids. We are starting with 10 words, which with repetition the kids will soak up. We hope you will be supportive of this initiative. If any parent wishes to be involved with this initiative you can contact John Carroll (Naomh Barróg’s Irish Language Officer) at john.c.carroll@gmail.com

Tar éis Barróg Beaga/ Mini Leagues á atosú, ba mhaith linn go n-úsáidfeadh na meantóirí cúpla focal i nGaeilge leis na páistí.

Seo 10 bhfocal úsáideacha agus le hathrá ní dhéanfaidh na páistí ach iad a ionsú.

Cúl (cool) – A goal

Cúilín (cooleen) – A point

Liathróid (layradge) – A ball

Sliotar (shliter) – A hurling ball

Clogad (klug-add) – Helmet

Camán (Come on) – Hurley

Maith thú (maw who) – Well done

Stad (stawd) – Stop

Rith (writh) – Run

Ar aghaidh (air eye-ig)
